Free Online Check Copies
See Cleared Checks Online! Do you ever forget to write down in your check register to whom a check was written, and you just can't remember? This FREE service allows you to view your paid checks for the last 15 months from when the checks cleared your checking account. You can save a copy of the image on your computer or print them out for future reference. However, if the payee processed the check as an electronic item, you will not be able to view the check image.

Other checks which may be deposited via Direct Deposit include federally-recurring checks, such as Social Security, Pension, and certain corporate payroll checks. Your joint account owner may also deposit directly to his or her Carter Federal account. Ask your company's Payroll Department for details or use our Switch Kit to sign up today!
ACH Origination and Transfers
The Automated Clearing House (ACH) system allows a member to have electronic debits or credits automatically withdrawn from or deposited to his or her share account or checking account at Carter Federal Credit Union. There are two types of ACH transactions:
ACH Originations - Automatic Deposits and Withdrawals with another financial institution. ACH originations are “originated” by the credit union to occur on a specified date each month.
1. A member can choose to have money transferred from another financial institution to a deposit account or a loan at Carter Federal.
2. A member can also choose to have money transferred from an account at Carter Federal to a deposit account at another financial institution or payee.
ACH Receivables - Direct Deposit and preauthorized payments. To begin Direct Deposit of a check to a deposit account at Carter Federal, please complete to form provided below and give to your employer’s payroll department.
Carter Federal Credit Union’s Routing Number, 311-175-983, as well as the member’s full membership number is required to set up a direct deposit or preauthorized payment.
Overdraft Protection
When you open a Carter Federal Checking Account, Overdraft Protection is automatically set up to pull needed funds from your Regular Savings Account with a charge of $1 each transaction.
Even if you think you'll never overdraw your checking account, automatic overdraft protection gives you extra peace of mind. It also gives you an easy way to access your other credit union accounts through your checking account. There is no charge to set up automatic overdraft protection. You only pay for it when you use it - $1 per transfer.
Courtesy Pay
Courtesy Pay adds a measure of protection to your personal share draft account. Courtesy Pay may cover your insufficient funds items, up to your approved limit, for one low fee per covered overdraft transaction. That means, instead of returning a share draft to the merchant because of insufficient funds, the Credit Union may pay your item, saving you additional charges from the merchant collection companies, in addition to the Credit Union's insufficient funds fee. It saves you the embarrassment of a returned check, and also helps protect your credit rating.
